Striving as a school district to meet our obligations for English Language Learning (ELL) support for multilingual students and for Inclusive Education + Learning Support for students with and without IEPs (Individual Education Plans).
Working toward having students and their families be supported throughout a student's journey in the public education system.
Advocating the province for increased and sustainable funding for the School District, for staffing, equipment, and space.
Advocating the province for increased training of teachers, EAs, and other professionals such as SLPs, school psychologists, and teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Supporting employees of the School District to ensure safe and continued staffing, not to eliminate jobs. Maintaining levels of teachers and support staff, including EAs and associated professionals.
Finding potential sources of revenue to help with funding school services, such as looking at whether school buildings could be rented out as community spaces.
Working with the municipalities to provide safe paths and streets for active transportation to and from schools (walking, biking, taking public transit, and personal vehicles).
