I am a speech-language pathologist (speech therapist) and I previously worked in SD61 and SD63. I valued and enjoyed my work as a school SLP, where I saw joy in learning and education. I also saw the challenges that students, teachers, and other staff faced in terms of not receiving adequate services, space, time, and funding.
I am running because I believe in public education and supporting students to their full potential. In order to do that, we also need to support teachers, educational assistants, other professionals like SLPs and school psychologists, and other staff working in our schools and District.
I also want to make sure that learning spaces for the students are free of discrimination, and that students and staff who are Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+, and part of any other equity-seeking group feel safe in our schools.
